The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana (NWISOI) held their 2016 Annual Meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, November 30 at the Ivy Tech Northwest Gary Campus. This meeting was open only to Members, Board Governors and the Counsel of the Society of Innovators.
The Society is the premier project of the Gerald I. Lamkin Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center of Ivy Tech Community College. At their Annual Meeting, the Board reviewed and discussed their strategic plan for 2016 – 2018, which was adopted last year and is to be updated annually. Additionally, they reviewed their activities and events that have taken place over this past year.
The strategic plan states that NWISOI will be moving in the direction of education in the coming years. In addition to recognizing and honoring innovation in the region, the Society will be hosting classes to educate people in NWI on how to think innovatively. This will bring the organization one step closer to its goal of creating a culture of innovation across Northwest Indiana.
The meeting also allowed Members to have an opportunity to pose questions and to share their thoughts about the importance of innovation and building a culture of innovation across Jasper, Lake, La Porte, Newton, Porter, Starke and Pulaski Counties.
