Suggesting and leading the design, RLM sewist Sheena Marrell looked at excess sawdust at RLM Tissue Bank Prosthetics and envisioned a new product for the transplant industry that provides human tissues for the living. Used as 3-dimensional shaping within deceased donors, she suggested that sawdust could be sewn into shapes to contour specific anatomical spaces as a crematory friendly solution. The result was a new product line that rounded out the RLM soft and rigid donor restoration system. Approximately 2,000 units are distributed per month, said founder and nominator Richard Marrell.
