Society of Innovators Fellow informs public of cyber threats

The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana continues to produce devoted Fellows who are looking to improve the quality of life for the people of Northwest Indiana. Robert E. Johnson III, president and CEO of CIMCOR Inc. and Fellow of the Society of Innovators, presented at the Lake County Advancement Committee luncheon about the increasing rate of cyber-attacks.

Daily, there are about 390,000 new cyber threats across the country and this number is predicted to increase to a million in the near future. The presentation featured many eye-opening figures, including a map of the world with real-time cyber-attacks happening all over. During this segment of the presentation, Washington, D.C. appeared to be a focus for multiple cyber-attacks.

The real-time file change detection showcased during the demonstration is something developed by the team at CIMCOR Inc. Other successes include developing IT security software used by the U.S. Army and the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Johnson expressed that he is interested in continuing to develop innovative solutions to the increasing problems surrounding cyber security because he believes that personal and important information is too easily accessible with the advancements in technology today.
