South Shore Clean Cities held their annual meeting and awards ceremony on February 14. Several Members of the Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana (NWISOI), including ArcelorMittal and Fair Oaks Farms, were honored at the event.
The meeting was held at the Blue Chip Hotel and Casino in Michigan City and recognized Northern Indiana’s clean fuel, vehicle, energy and technology leaders. The meeting also featured a presentation regarding the $39 million Indiana received from the Volkswagen diesel emissions settlement and the opportunities that will come from it.
Senator Joe Donnelly, Congressman Pete Visclosky and Congresswoman Jackie Walorski all sent video messages to the meeting attendees and awardees, praising their work in making Indiana a cleaner, healthier place to live.
